The question of muf leave. But as onglet perhaps to legal experience mention that, after taking MA and at Oxford, called to the ban at Inner Temple in 1891, and practised here till went to Haughang in 1894.

M practice in Circuit, then administering Mr May, who wrote letter to the Secretary of State for the Colonies in four some of 670 C. O. 2011 Government office.

"May 1904 the honor to transmit for your consideration. I have the Enclosed copy of letter from A.E.H. Sharp K.C. this Colony applying for the post of Attorney General in the Event of a vacancy occurring in the near future.

I believe that Sir William Goodman attains the pensionable age in the spring of next year. His health suffered too much during the last hot season and is at present so indifferent that it is more than probable that he will retire at the age of 55.

In this Colony with due to strong bar and a numerous and highly technical body of solicitors, whose services are available to a rich community, ready to contend for anything to which they imagine they are entitled; and owing to the extremely high value of property, intricate questions concerning the rights of property owners are constantly arising; and where the rapid growth of population and expansion of trade requires the consideration of legislative measures of more than ordinary importance, it is very necessary that the Government should be able to command the best legal advice in the Colony.

Mr E. H. Sharp is admittedly the leading Counsel in the Colony at the present time and is acknowledged on all hands as an extremely clever and sound lawyer. I consider that this Government would be fortunate in gaining his services and would benefit greatly by his appointment to the post of Attorney General, should a vacancy occur in the post next Spring.

The Right Hon.

I have the honor etc.
